"The children loved the Toon Times session as it was hands on and very practical. It taught the children in a fun and motivating way. The session gave the children a context that they could relate to. It made the history come alive and was something that they all knew something about. They loved dressing up as the players! A fantastic way to teach history – Thank you."
Mandy Watson, teacher, Eastlea Primary
"I would like to thank Newcastle Foundation for the work they have done in both St Mark's and St George's over the past year and in particular through the Premier League School Sport's Programme. With the onset of Sports Funding into school it would have been so easy to drift into a little bit of everything to spend the premium on. We decided to spend on equipment, staff training/support and the Foundation's programme. This was one of the best decision we have made! Working closely together, we came up with a bespoke programme which was tailored to our needs. The health and fitness regime from this programme, which rotates every term to cover the whole school, can only be of benefit to our children. The children look forward to every session and I feel, funding permitted, this is something we will look to continue."
Rose Wilcox, Executive School Business Manager
"My son, recently took part in your holiday training sessions at Cramlington high school. I would just like to say how much he enjoyed it! He thought his coach, Paul Robinson, was great! Owen's normally quite shy but he was made to feel welcome and at ease straight away. Paul provided him with constructive feedback and Owen has taken a lot of what Paul has taught him and put it into practice while playing football for his team. I'm really pleased with the progress Owen made, even though it was just for three days, and will definitely be booking him onto the course at Christmas. Keep up the good work!"
Vicky Lowery, Parent
"I am writing to you on behalf of the team here to thank Joanne Charlton, Gavin Ferry and Kath Boodhai for the outreach work they have conducted on the Akenside/Castleside wards at the Campus for Ageing and Vitality. The work of your colleagues has provided opportunities for patients to reminisce and to articulate their memories to other people on the ward. I have noticed through my own observation that creating opportunities to reminisce can encourage patients, who can sometimes be withdrawn, to engage with other people. This engagement can enhance the social interactions between patients and thus potentially improve the experience of being on a ward environment during treatment."
Daniel Rippon, NHS Assistant Clinical Psychologist
“We have been really impressed with the quality of the coaching and the relationships that the coaches build up with our children. The children really look forward to the sessions. This is part of our whole school vision to increase and improve the level of participation across school. Our school can dip into sessions where they feel we have a skills or knowledge gap, which is providing valuable CPD opportunities."
Debi Bailey, Head Teacher Walkergate Primary
“I was so impressed by the young people who were involved with the programme and could see straight away it is a valuable and innovative way of teaching young people to think about business. With such worrying levels of youth unemployment, schemes such as this are vitally important in helping young people develop into our business leaders of the future.”
Catherine McKinnell, Newcastle North MP
"On behalf of my daughter Kira Whittle and family, can we please thank the team (in particular Ross, Robbo and the girls) for their time and help in developing Kira as a better player and person."
Tony Whittle , Parent
"The coaching sessions have made a positive impact in Throckley and helped reduce anti-social behaviour. In addition the sessions were clearly loved by all the young people who attended and it has raised their aspirations. Steve has been an excellent ambassador for the Foundation and I can’t thank him and his team enough."
Will Sutton, Community Support Officer
"Thank you so much to all who have been involved Match Fit at Abbeyfields First School. The staff have all learned some interesting tips and new games to play and there’s been an excellent impact on the children’s approach to a healthy diet in particular."
Sheelagh Halliford, Deputy Head Teacher, Abbeyfields First School
"The response from both pupils and in particular parents has been extremely positive and has helped to forge stronger relationships with them. The Newcastle United Foundation staff have been commended by both parents and school staff, and your personal liaison has always been proactive and very professional, which is not always common when dealing with external providers."
Ian Johnson, Teacher, Northumberland Church of England Academy
