Kieran Trippier became the star student at a PE lesson led by Newcastle United Foundation in Newcastle’s East End.

The Newcastle United full-back joined schoolchildren at Walkergate Community School where pupils engage in physical activity delivered by the Foundation, using the power of football to inspire young people to be active.

Pupils were told to welcome a new student to their group and were delighted when Trippier arrived to help coach their session.

Taking the lead from Foundation staff, the former England international helped children to improve their teamwork and communications skills, as well as presenting awards to pupils working hard to display Premier League Primary Stars values.

“Having Kieran Trippier join a session shows our pupils that even elite players experience challenges, and that resilience and teamwork are essential both in school and in life.

“His encouragement made a real impact on the young people we work with every day.”
