Newcastle United Foundation is proud to support The FA’s Play Safe campaign again this season, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in safeguarding and welfare.

At Newcastle United Foundation, safeguarding is a year-round priority, ensuring everyone connected to the charity feels safe and supported in an inclusive environment.

The theme for this year’s campaign, ‘Keep Up The Convo’ highlights the importance of creating regular opportunities for children and young people to have a voice to communicate concerns or issues on their mind.

The campaign encourages every adult in football to create regular opportunities for children and young people to speak openly, listen carefully to what they share and help them raise concerns with a trusted adult.

Jordan Wragg, Youth Engagement Manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: “The Play Safe campaign provides an important opportunity to shine a light on safeguarding and to encourage meaningful conversations with children and young people.

“Safeguarding concerns can be disclosed at any time – a strong safeguarding culture at our Foundation and embedded within the community through parent/guardians, means we can give everyone the opportunity to share anything that doesn’t feel right.

“It is key that everyone in football, including participants themselves, have the confidence and ability to know what to do when something is wrong. We have robust safeguarding measures in place to create best practice within our organisation and to empower young people to share any concerns with a trusted adult.”
