Graves holds a deep understanding of the Foundation’s role in the community and has applied his expertise to present the charity’s annual Celebration Dinner for the last three years.
As the charity’s largest fundraising event of the season, Graves plays a key role in sharing the inspirational achievements of North East community members connected by Newcastle United and the Foundation’s work and engaged in education, employability and sport and wellbeing programmes with the charity.
Sharing his pride at becoming patron, Graves said: “I’ve worked very closely with the Foundation for many years and what they do for our community is really important to me as a proud North East lad.
“Seeing first-hand how this charity changes lives and supports so many people of all ages in the region is inspirational. I’m honoured to play a role in Newcastle United Foundation’s future and I’m looking forward to being part of their incredible work.”
Graves joins Gabby Logan MBE, Jonathan Edwards CBE and Bob Moncur as a Foundation patron. Each patron contributes their time to promote the work of the charity to inspire others to get involved or fundraise to continue the Foundation’s work.
Dan Burn is the Foundation’s official Player Ambassador and also shares a commitment to championing the organisation.
Steve Beharall, Newcastle United Foundation CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pete Graves on board as a patron for Newcastle United Foundation.
“Pete has a real passion for the region, our club and community and has collaborated with the Foundation over the years – lending us his time, his talent and continuous support. As such a well-known and respected figure here in the North East, Pete is a great addition to our team of patrons dedicated to championing the Foundation’s work wherever possible.”
